WARRIORS ELITE
Warriors Elite offers high intensity, competitive teams each March to June for girls. These are representative teams that practice three to four times a week and play in numerous tournaments locally, throughout the island, and on the mainland.
In keeping with the Warriors Basketball philosophy, we focus on individual development within a team framework. Our athletes spend practice time working on their individual skills which are transferable to whatever school they attend, rather than spending our practice time on team specific systems. We also provide team members with training in:
-
Athletic Development
-
Nutrition
-
Mental Skills
-
Academic Achievement
-
Post-secondary Recruitment
Our goal is to develop athletes to be ready to play at an elite level, whether that means getting a scholarship to play college or university basketball, playing for Team BC or playing for Team Canada. If this is your goal, then Warriors Elite is the place for you!
The success of our athletes isn’t just luck. It is a combination of coaching and work ethic. Our coaches have extensive experience playing and coaching at the post-secondary, provincial team and elite player level throughout Canada, the United States and Internationally. They know what it takes as they’ve been there! Basketball is their passion and they are continually expanding their knowledge and experience to benefit Warriors Basketball athletes.

Our 4 Guiding Principles
Equal Playing Time
Youth players should have equal playing time in the first 3/4 of a game. In the last 1/4, the coach can place line-ups on the floor and substitute players as they wish.
Equal Skill Sets
All players on the team get equal exposure to instruction of basic skills regardless of the positoin they play. The aim is for each girl who leaves the Club to be able to play multiple positions in Secondary school.
Age Integration
Where possible, the Club creates opportunities for younger players to mix with older players during skills night and the summer, so they can challenge themseleves.
Year-Long Practice
The Club offers practices outside of the regular basketball season. These will be interspersed between ample periods of non-practice time so players can rest, stay committed and motivated.
The Warriors are guided by and adhere to the policies Basketball BC-Safe Sport Policy, which is committed to creating a sports environment that is accessible, inclusive, respects their participant's personal goals, and is free from all forms of Maltreatment.
